PE and Sports Premium

For the 2024-2025 school year, we chose to spend a proportion of our PE/sports premium money on encouraging our children to try new sports/activities and to be more active.

We continued to work with SportsCool to provide a wide range of extra curricular sporting activities throughout the year, during lunch time and after school, using specialist coaches to engage our children in being active.

Half termly interhouse competitions were arranged, covering wide ranging sports, preceded by a training session with qualified coaches, broadening the experiences of children.

We also made use of SportsCool coaches expertise within curriculum PE time, with our school staff learning from SportsCool specialist coaches so that we can provide a long term improved PE offer for our children.

The children loved the experience sessions led by Jamie, a freestyle footballer, and Shaun, leading wheelchair basketball sessions.

The half termly mental health and well being days, led by Leanne from Purely Well Being, were well received. Our Well Being Warriors have been trained throughout the year and are now fantastic leading well being sessions in each class throughout the week.

For the 2025-2026 school year, we will continue to spend a proportion of our PE/sports premium money on extra curricular provision, both at lunchtime and after school, encouraging children to be active and engage in a range of sporting opportunities.

Termly interhouse competitions will continue, preceded by a training session with qualified coaches, further broadening experiences for our children. In the opposite half term, we will have an inspirational sporting visitor leading workshops for the children.

Given the current needs of our children, funding will continue to be spent on half termly well-being workshops for every child in school, supporting children to develop a range of strategies to promote their mental health and well being. In 2025-2026, there will be the offer a termly after school family well being session.

We will continue to engage in a range of sporting competitions in 2025-2026 and will work hard to retain our Gold School Games Award.
