Geography

Geography is led by Mr Hargreaves at All Saints’.

At All Saints’, we are incredibly fortunate to have extensive and enriching school grounds, which we make full use of to support and enhance our geography curriculum. Our geography teaching inspires curiosity and deepens children’s understanding of the world around them—both near and far.

Through geography, our pupils learn to explore and reflect on how the world is changing and how human actions contribute to those changes. They develop the skills to ask and answer big questions, make meaningful connections across topics and understand the interdependence of people, places and environments.

Throughout their journey at All Saints’, children:

Study a diverse range of locations, both locally and globally.

Explore key concepts in physical and human geography.

Learn to read, interpret, create and use maps, atlases and digital mapping tools.

Engage in fieldwork, developing essential skills through hands-on, real-world exploration.

Investigate geographical issues that help them consider both present-day and future challenges.

By the time children leave our school, they are equipped not only with a strong understanding of geographical knowledge and skills but also with an appreciation of how geography helps shape the way we live and interact with our world.
