Design Technology

Miss Harrison is the Subject Leader for Design and Technology at All Saints’ and is passionate about nurturing creativity, innovation and problem-solving through this exciting subject.

Design and Technology (DT) provides children with the opportunity to become creative thinkers, designers, inventors and engineers. At All Saints’, we offer a rich and varied DT curriculum that encourages pupils to apply practical and technical skills in meaningful and engaging ways.

Through a carefully sequenced curriculum, children are given the chance to:

Explore, design, make and evaluate a variety of products and prototypes

Develop their understanding of mechanisms, structures, food technology, textiles and electrical systems

Learn about and be inspired by significant designers, engineers and inventors who have shaped the world around us

Our DT curriculum is built to ensure progression of skills from Reception to Year 6, equipping pupils with confidence, resilience and the ability to think critically and creatively. Each project provides real-life contexts that engage and motivate children, helping them to see themselves as the designers and innovators of the future.
