Art
Miss Harrison is the Subject Leader for Art at All Saints’ and is passionate about inspiring creativity across the school.
At All Saints’, we believe that Art is a powerful form of expression and a valuable opportunity for children to explore their imagination, develop new skills, and reflect their individuality. We celebrate creativity and provide a rich and varied art curriculum that encourages all pupils to ‘let their light shine’.
Each class completes three dedicated units of Art per year—one each term. Art is delivered in focused blocks, with all afternoon sessions over a two- to three-week period set aside for immersive learning. This structure allows children to fully engage with the subject and delve deeper into the creative process.
Every Art unit is carefully designed to:
• Introduce children to the work and influence of a significant artist or artistic movement
• Develop key artistic skills and techniques using a range of media
• Provide opportunities for children to explore, experiment and produce a final piece that showcases their progress and creativity
Through our Art curriculum, children learn to express themselves with confidence and originality, while building a lifelong appreciation for the visual arts.
